I have been living in Shinfield Parish for the last 27 years and have spent most years campaigning with my husband both locally and nationally in the area. I have seen the changes that have taken place and the challenges Shinfield has going forward.
After speaking to so many people on the doorsteps over the years about their issues, I feel it is time to be involved more practically with helping residents with their problems.
A councillor’s role also involves liaising and progressing issues with the relevant officers and attending council meetings which would also give me the job satisfaction of knowing I was making a difference to the community around us.
I met my husband locally after moving to the area and we have raised both of our children (now in their twenties) in Spencer’s Wood. Our parish of Shinfield has been a wonderful place for them to grow up in and would like to see this continue for the generations to follow.
