Following a question from Cllr Pauline Jorgensen, leader of the Conservative group on Wokingham Borough and parliamentary candidate for Earley and Woodley, the Lib Dem council leader admitted that 'errors had been made' in the recent changes they had implemented which left litter bins unemptied and dog poo bags overflowing into the street. The Lib Dem Executive member also admitted that the wrong bins may have been selected for removal, which was announced without proper approval. The Council is now in a frantic clean-up effort to restore the old service and clear up the mess before the decision goes back to WBC Executive in September. Pauline said "This debacle of poor decision-making and false economy has left the whole area in a disgusting mess, I am calling on the Lib Dem ruling group to reverse their decision", if the council can afford to spend millions on consultancy they can afford to spend less than £70k a year emptying our litter bins".
