Splash into action this summer with a series of water based activities at the Dinton Activity Centre. The team has worked extensively to produce a summer holiday activity programme that meets the Government’s Covid-19 safety guidelines.
There’s a whole host of water sports to keep kids entertained over the summer break. All hands on deck for the Junior Sailing weeks, which will run for stages one to three. Children who fancy sailing, must be aged 10 or over. The minimum age has increased, to ensure instructors can deliver lessons at a socially safe distance.
Youngsters are also invited to hop on board for a week of Teen Sailing training, as a part of the Level 1 course. This activity is suitable for 13 to 17 year olds. Unfortunately, Teen Level 2, Junior Stage 4 and Advanced Sailing modules will not take place as the syllabus requires the sailors to use duel occupancy boats, of which social distancing cannot be maintained.
Wild Days have evolved into Wild Sessions this summer, where kids can choose from a morning or afternoon of paddle sports or bushcraft fun. To ensure participants safety the centre will be using single occupancy sit-on-top kayaks and paddleboards.
Parents can book either the morning and afternoon session, or both, for their children, but are advised that kids must go home over lunchtime. The team are unable to host participants indoors due to Covid-19 procedures. In addition, children must arrive ‘beach ready’ for their water activity, as children will not be hosted inside the centre itself. Access to toilets will be maintained in line for safety guidelines.
The country parks’ ever so popular boat hire is also back for the summer holidays. In order to reduce customer interactions at reception, visitors are asked to book online and simply turn up at the jetty for their allotted time. There will be a reduced number of boats available due to a strict cleaning regime of boats and buoyancy aids between customers.
Families can also enjoy the Saturday Family Taster Sessions, which include either sailing or paddle boarding in small groups of up to five people to one instructor.

Whether your children want to try their hands at sailing, paddle boarding or kayaking, there’s a session to suit.”

If in the disappointing event of re-entering a national or regional lockdown, customers will have an extended 12 months rebooking timeframe applied.
