Thames Valley Police has arrested a man in connection with an incident of fly tipping in Burghfield in March. The man from Reading was arrested on Thursday 27th June on suspicion of depositing without an environmental permit for controlled waste in / on land and the use of a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance. The arrest was made as a result of a partnership between the Police, Council and local Trading Standards. Cllr Carol Jackson-Doerge welcomed the news, saying, "I am very glad that Thames Valley Police are taking this issue seriously and will continue to work with the local police on this issue. We have dedicated local waste facilities and there is no excuse for breaking the law."
